Corpus - Based Material Design Task

Corpus - Based Material Design Task

Hi, everyone! In this blog post, I will talk about corpus-based materials and tell you about  my experiences and thoughts about the task.

Corpus - based materials offer a more real portrayal of language usage. Because traditional materials often lack authenticity, corpora are critical for reducing the gap between academic knowledge and actual application. Exposure to real-world language usage not only improves the learning environment, but it also helps to build linguistic intuition.

The benefits of corpus-based resources go beyond creating a better understanding of language structures, usages, and contexts. Learners benefit from authentic examples because they get insights into collocations, word patterns, and idiomatic expressions. This exposure encourages a more natural understanding of language details, which contributes to improved communication competence. Furthermore, corpus-based tasks allow teachers to personalize learning experiences to individual requirements and competence levels. This range of options allows a more specific and successful way through language learning.

While creating the worksheet, we used ''Canva'' as a tool. It is very practical and there are so many options in it. We can use our creativity and make visually and educationally attractive materials with it. So, I highly recommend it to you.

Moreover, I really enjoyed it while making the material. Creating something for the students makes me very happy and motivated. It is very important for me to ensure that the students get the most out of the material. Thus, I do my best to make it beneficial and enjoyable at the same time. Also, working with a pair, my dear friend Nisanur Baş, made the process easier and funnier for me. We had fun while completing the task and we shared our ideas with each other, we brainstormed together. In conclusion, corpus-based material task was an educational and enjoyable experience for me.

Take Care!
